2. Emergency Service
Greenbelt Veterinary Services
provides emergency care for our clients 24 hours a day, 365
days a year. All nine of our veterinarians rotate call
duties, allowing us to provide excellent service to you and
maintain strong family lives. Rest assured that while the
veterinarian you reach may not be your "usual" veterinarian,
he or she will be trained and experienced in dealing with
equine emergencies.

Evaluation and Treatment for Sick Horses
Greenbelt Veterinary Services
offers evaluation and care for your sick horse. Dr. Anne or
Theresa will take a history of your horses illness, perform
a complete examination and recommend a course of treatment.
Both veterinarians have extensive experience in diagnosis
and treatment of problems such as colic, respiratory disease
and eye disease. For complicated cases, tests such as blood
work, radiographs (x-rays) and ultrasound may be required
and are available at Greenbelt Veterinary Services.

4. Breeding Services including Ultrasound
Greenbelt
Veterinary Services provides complete care of your
broodmare. Dr. Theresa Burns is a board certified specialist
in reproduction and has advanced training and experience in
breeding with frozen semen, , twin reduction, breeding the
problem mare and management of high risk pregnancy. Drs.
Anne and Theresa are experienced in breeding with cooled
semen and ultrasonographic diagnosis of pregnancy. They also
have a special interest caring for mares and foals just
after foaling. |
5.
Lameness Diagnosis
Greenbelt Veterinary Services
provides diagnosis and treatment for your lame horse. Dr.
Anne Dick is a board certified specialist in equine surgery
(including lameness diagnosis). She has extensive experience
diagnosing and treating complicated lameness. |
6.
Prepurchase Examinations
Greenbelt
Veterinary Services provides veterinary evaluation of horses
for purchase. The examination includes evaluation for
general health and soundness. Additional testing such as
radiographs, blood work and evaluation as a breeding animal
are available. |
7.
Surgery
Greenbelt Veterinary Services
offers routine surgical care for your horse. Drs. Anne and
Theresa are experienced in routine surgeries such as
cosmetic lump removal and castration. Dr. Anne is a board
certified surgical specialist and can perform more
complicated surgeries such as hernia repair and minor
orthopedic surgery "on farm". When in the best interest of
your horse, another veterinarian will accompany Dr. Anne to
assist with and monitor anesthesia. |
